Ok, I've seen him... not so hot as the rough image!! I like the last version better, really. I did seen it before, when I was colecting some of your pieces for the journal I did... From all I had to choose I would choose the last one. Yeah!!!!
Oh, I am SO far behind again in looking through things here!
What a wonderfully expressive feeling you've captured in this one, Sis... I can almost feel the anguish as he drains the last few drops of water from the canteen... You have quite a way with your painting, sweetie... More! More!
... I appreciate deeply our precious comment ,Sweet Ellenand that you could get 'into the atmosphere"(lol)maybe if he would know, that you would come,he wouldn't be anguished anymore... and also for your
Awesome piece of work and gift my dear Flori !!!! You can almost feel the despair of having ran out of water in this burning hot desert !!! You sure accomplished in creating that atmosphere, as if you're there...Magnificent job on the painting, the lighting, the shading, and choice of colors !!! Even the details of adding drops of sweat is very well thought !!! Yep, you sure created a masterpiece once more !!!
...thank you deeply for your lovely comment Erik.this watercolour painting I made 15 years ago.I made the same one 3 times actually, one big in oilpainting, this in aquarelle painting, and ione in pastel drawing.I was one some expositions, and every time I exposed one,it was sold.As I liked it myself,I restarted again, but diffrent technique. This one is actually not so good,I think,I could have made better the continuity of skin, the "nuanes" should have been softer. It is actually interesting, sometimes,to restart a work, some times later,in different technique, different "approach".Even if I rarely do twice exactly the same,I think,I learn, and try, always to do better.Hopefully.
You're very welcome my dear friend !!!! It's great to hear you actually done this one 3 times and in different techniques...I really wished I had some more time and do more traditional work as well again, !!! But I really like this one the way it is, and personally like the harder nuances of the skin, making the lighting and shading much more stronger...But...as true artists, we always see something ourselves that needs to be improved and always making it better next time...We never stop learning and we always push our limits further and further and improving our skills and approach...And I look forward to see your next piece of art !!!
Dear Flori this is a wonderful gift for your friend. Charged with emotion. I suppose interpreting it will depend on your mood, You could say he is full of despair but I see grim humour. Maybe he just found he has a hole in his canteen.
...thank you lots for your nice comment,dear. You ask,if I write?You mean,drawing and writing,as cartoons?I never tried cartoons.But I write,yes.Poems,and "deep thoughts"(lol),in diffrent languages,but just for myself,or my friends.
